I had yet another attempt to find the magical vibration free camera mount that I have managed to achieve before. Not too windy, though gusty, I took off in between showers. I was satisfied everything was in order, so I started to ascend .. when the clouds started to obscure the view a little, I decided to decend but the quad wanted to come down much quicker.. Flipped, it decided to accelerate towards the ground .. EEEEK! Splat .. Sadly, a snail or slug was demolished as the quad hit the ground - I'm sorry, but at least it would have been quick. All in all, the quad held up well, no broken motor mounts, no bent arms (that I can see).. the camera mount made today didn't fair so well, nor did the nylon standoffs nor two propellors. All in all, it could have been MUCH worse.. I did break a lot of zip ties though. The batteries seem OK, no expansion and they've been monitored for a few hours now. The phone? Perfectly fine! The worst part so far, cleaning up the slug guts! A dismantle, clean and rebuild is in order - especially from the dust where I've been flying lately. The good news? I think I know how to make a good camera mount now! I just have to build another one!
