First run of my camera based rc car lap timer. I'm using a ps3 camera because that's all I have besides iPhone (no fast!). The code runs at 60fps @640*480 resolution, which means lap times are accurate to the nearest 16ms. The app allows the user to enter comments about the session eg mvrccc track, rough, 50wt oil in shocks, toe 2degs etc etc. when the app detects movement it will take a photo and record the lap time. Each lap recorded also has a comments field so the user can enter details about the lap eg cleared the triple, took 3rd corner too wide etc etc. The app will also read out each lap time so could hook up to loud speakers to hear lap times while running (notebook speakers are a little quite). Will be adding color detection soon so can detect multiple cars. And setup sheet for sessions. Ohh and maybe upload laptimes to a website so I can leave notebook and camera trackside, then with ipad view the laptimes via web.....
