The Tamiya Championship Series is now in its 16th year and going strong. One of the attractions of the series is the possibility to attend the annual North American Finals at the Tamiya Test Track in Alisio Viejo, California and possibly go on to win a chance to represent the USA at the World Championships in Japan. We attended the event this year and captured all the exciting A-Main action as it happened. In this video we get to see the A-Main of the GT2 class. The cars in this class must use a tub chassis, such as what's found on The TA-05, TB-03 and others. This class was the most "open" as there were no spec tires, motors or batteries. Racers were allowed to use one of five 17.5-turn brushless motors from Tekin, Novak or LRP with any ROAR-Legal LiPo battery pack. Long-time TCS participant Marty Hageman took the top honors in qualifying with a car that he had never raced before this event. Local racers Alan Mok and Jason Huang were right there behind Hageman on the grid. These were the fastest cars of the weekend and, with only a single 6-minute A-Main this was an exciting all-or-nothing main event.Questions? Comments?
